Berkeley Urban Forest Bathing Workshop

Purusha Yoga Studio (3048 Claremont Ave, Berkeley CA

Join us for an urban forest bath to release anxiety and tension, and drop into a deeper heart space that will allow for potent reflection and nourishing self-love. Forest bathing is based on the medicinal Japanese practice of shinrin yoku (translation: taking in the forest atmosphere), which has been proven to relieve tension, lower cortisol, increase a sense of awe & wonder, and provide an immune boost lasting up to three weeks. Experienced forest bather Samantha Kanofsky will guide you on a beautiful autumn forest bath on a nearby urban trail that will awaken the senses and quiet the mind, offering time for both private reflection and sharing in group council. Afterwards, we’ll have a chance to warm up our bodies in the studio with somatic movement practice, journal or draw our learnings, and integrate the wisdom we’ve harvested through silent meditation.

All ages and fitness levels are welcome! Tickets will be available at the door if any remain, but to confirm your place, please send sliding scale $45-60 via Paypal to samantha.kanofsky@gmail.com or Vemmo to @samantha-kanofsky.

Meet Sammy

Sammy Kanofsky is a writer, educator, and lover of trees. After spending much of her Saturn returns being nourished by the redwood groves of the Berkeley Hills, she began to hear the Earth call out for reciprocal care and attention. She holds a certificate in Eco-Psychology through the Holos Institute and recently launched SoulLight Communications: a company that helps people return to their divine interconnectedness through forest bathing and awareness-based nature-connection classes, workshops, and retreats.

Sammy believes that restoring our innate relationship with nature requires listening deeply to the small voice inside, wherein lies the key to our healing. She loves holding space and creating permission for human beings to play, express, and discover their natural wisdom in reciprocity with the natural world.

Visit her online at soullightecotherapy.com (website coming soon!) or follow on Instagram at SoulLightEcotherapy.
